It sure is quiet out there. People are checking the site but no one's saying anything. I suppose there's nothing else to discuss now that the cards are dealt and our fates are already sealed. I don't know about you guys, but this period of waiting is driving me crazy. I don't think I've ever experienced a period of time that has travelled as slowly as what I've experienced these last few days.

Best of luck to everyone out there! Thank God it's almost over.!

Hi,

I was planning to get out of town on President's day weekend and escape the joy/pain of match day on Friday. I'd probably be leaving on a plane during noontime (EST) of Friday. SFmatch says they'll fax results to Dean's offices and program directors on Friday. ANyone know the details of this? I've actually heard that programs can call you as early as Thursday night/Friday morning. It would be great to know before boarding the plane.

Thanks and good luck to everybody!

I am quite sure the only way to arrange a rank list is by the programs you prefer. The website even states this.

However, I have heard that some people advise ranking higher those programs that you feel will accept you. This sounds bunk to me.

For example, if I rank "Hicksville U" number 10, and they rank me number 1. If none of my top 9 programs rank me, then I am going to Hicksville I presume. I would not be better served by ranking Hicksville high on my list...

I just found this newsgroup online. It is a good one.

I am a lowly 3rd year but wondering what my chances are to match in ENT. I attended a pretty well respected school in the south, my grades during years 1 and 2 are mostly High Pass and Honors, but I didnt Honor anatomy. I got a 239 on Step 1 and my 3rd year grades so far are Honor in Peds and Family Medicine. I just finished my surgery rotation last week so I dont know that grade yet. I do not have any research experience...
